Sedona

Sedona is best known as Arizona's beautiful Red Rock country.  Red Rock State Park (520-282-6907) is a nature/wildlife preserve providing hiking, picnics and guided tours. 

Fort Verde

Fort Verde State Historic Park contains building from one of the last remaining frontier military forts (520-567-3275).  It was constructed between 1871-1873 and four buildings have survived.  An entrance fee is charged.

Jerome

Jerome, once a bustling copper mining camp, is now a thriving artists community.  Jerome State Historic Park (520-634-5381) features the Douglas Mansion, a Jerome landmark since 1916 and now a museum

Grand Canyon

Grand Canyon National Park (520-638-7888 for recorded information) is known world-wide for its overwhelming size and intricate and colorful landscape.  It is perhaps the most spectacular example of arid land erosion in the world.  The park encompasses 1, 904 square miles, including 277 miles of the Colorado River.  The South Rim facilities are open all year.  The North Rim facilities are open from mid-May through Mid-October.  Persons interested in visiting the Park can write to the following address to request a trip planner (Grand Canyon National Park, P.O.
